FAQs
FAQs – Personal Chef Services
1. How do I book your services?
Booking is easy! You can contact us via email or phone (call or text). Once your date is confirmed, you’ll receive a booking confirmation and invoice. A deposit may be required to secure your service.
2. What types of services do you offer?
We specialize in personalized in-home meal prep and private dining. All cooking is done in your home to comply with Ontario health and safety regulations.
Please note: We do not offer meal prep delivery or pre-made meals prepared outside of your home. Depending on your request or the size of the event, a commercial kitchen rental may be considered for larger or off-site projects.
3. What happens if the client needs to cancel?
We understand that sometimes trips, time off, or other circumstances may require a cancellation. For regular clients, cancellations must be made in writing via email. Fees depend on how close to the scheduled date the cancellation occurs:
More than 5 days: No fee
1–5 days: 50% fee
Within 24 hours: 70% fee (plus ingredient costs, if applicable)
Exceptions may apply for emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.
4. What happens if the Chef needs to cancel?
In the event of illness, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances, the Chef will make every effort to reschedule. If rescheduling is not possible, any payments for the canceled service will be fully refunded.
5. Can you accommodate dietary restrictions or allergies?
Yes! We can customize meals for dietary restrictions, allergies, or specific nutritional goals. Please let us know at the time of booking to ensure we can accommodate your needs safely.
Disclaimer: The Chef is not liable for any adverse health effects or nutritional deficiencies that may result from specialized diets (e.g., keto, paleo, raw, carnivore). Clients are encouraged to consult a licensed healthcare provider or dietitian to ensure their diet meets nutritional needs. The Chef will make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary requests but assumes no responsibility for health outcomes.
6. Do you provide ingredients or do I need to supply them?
This depends on the agreement. The Chef can source and provide all ingredients; however, clients must reimburse the Chef for grocery costs with receipts provided.
If you prefer to do your own shopping, the Chef will provide a detailed ingredient list in a timely manner, and all ingredients must be ready and available upon the Chef’s arrival. Adding a shopping service may also require a fee adjustment.
7. How many meals can the Chef prepare in a service?
Meal counts depend on your diet and menu complexity. On average, the Chef can prepare 5 meal options, 8 portions each, in approximately 6–6.5 hours. Specific counts and timing will be confirmed during planning.
8. How often can the Chef come for meal prep services?
Meal prep visits are tailored to your needs. Most of our schedule is booked for weekly or biweekly regular services, but occasional visits may be arranged subject to availability. We recommend consulting for availability at least 3 weeks in advance.
9. Do you have a referral program?
Yes! For every new long-term meal prep client you refer, you’ll receive one free meal prep service (grocery shopping not included). The reward applies once your referral signs up for a long-term meal prep plan.
10. What areas do you cover?
We serve London, Ontario, and surrounding areas. A small mileage fee may apply if the total commute exceeds 40 km.
